Oracle Tribute

This is my humble tribute to Barbara Gordon's coolest role. There are tons of batgirls and ever more costumed kids that support Batman but only one of them can do it from air conditioned comfort and be more helpful than most.

Updated with the new pic!

Black Canary: Olie!?!?

The last of my little tryptic of DC women. Fun?
I'm glad everyones been digging them.

Having fun with the ladies of DC

This is a 2 fold  exercise for me: I haven't drawn any pin up style pretty ladies lately and I got to play with the texture patterns I built in AI.

Zatanna's Fishnets and Barda's Scales were all built as vector swatch patterns. I added them and oriented them the way I wanted. When I colored and shaded the characters in Photoshop I added the larger shadows and highlights to give it alsmost a 3d effect without taking out out of the image.

Power man and Jewel in Love!

Hi Guys,

This piece is part of The latest (and I do mean late) Line is Drawn Reader Gallery on CBR.
http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2011/03/18/march-2011-reader-art-gallery/

I've always been partial to Luke and Jessica. It's just something quick and fun. I also find it cool because they remind me of my in laws.

Enjoy.

Stay Puft!

Sorry for all the blog neglect! I just could resist posting the finished version of old mist Puft for the blogusphere to see. This is a mix of vector and and pixel painting. The entire character is vector with the painted background.

I had tons of fun designing the tattoos and figureing out cool references to cover him in. The idea here is jail house ink and what he might get done after they GB's throw him in the tank.

FInal Xmen Angel Design

This is my finished redesign of Angel from the X Men for Superhero of the Month! When I think about any of the original core X-characters I go back to the beginning design wise. Their costumes should have a uniform fee to them. I could easily see this working with all the originals.

It’s also, at it’s core, a superhero suit none of that extemporaneous seams business or zippers and bells and whistles being used these days.

Angels in the redesign feild

These are some rough concepts for the Angel redesign for Superhero of the month.
Angel's had a ton of costumes over the years so there wasn't one theme to latch onto.
Design wise the thing I wanted o do most was stick with his classic X Men blue and gold scheme. everything else was up for grabs.

Vector school kids.

These kids were done for a local day care center. They wanted kids representing school subjects. They were tons of fun to do and I picked up a few vector tricks while I worked on it.

ShaThor the Mighty!

This is my bit for the Reader art Gallery on CBR. It's a Mash up of Thor And Captain Marvel.
It's all thunder and lightning. I need to get around to doing the companion to this one...Captain Shazmerica (mixing the captain's america and Marvel).

That do you guys think of my little cover Mock up?

Xmas in progress!

This is my Sci Fi take on Xmas. It's based on a card I did ages ago and gave out to select buddies.
It's a fun Kirbyish take for the "holiday". The first image is the whole composition. The second is the Santa figure.

This year it's all going to be my personal and professional card, I'm sending this out to clients on Dec. 1st as well as anyone that wants one.

I'll also have a limited amount of poster sized pints. This would look killer in comics shop window.

It might also be on display at a gallery show if it's accepted in the Christmas nostalgia show!

Earth 2 Robin Redesign

I threw my hat in the ring over at http://www.superheroofthemonth.com/.
They're having a Robin Redesign contest and as usual I had to be different. I went with a Robin that most people Barley remember. Pre-crisis Earth 2 Robin!

Instead of becoming Nightwing he becomes the "former boy wonder".
He goes from an adult version of his old duds to a Batman costume with a Robin symbol pasted over top. Did I mention the yellow Dracula cape?

This guy (Dick Grayson) really does needed a make over.

My version streamlines the ex boy wonder's suit and transitions into his Batman honoring suit.
The idea for the symbol is that the R is cape clasp and the cape flows out like the wings of pastiche bat/robin symbol.

Hi Line It Is Drawn Readers!

The sketch for this piece was featured on the Line It Is Drawn Readers gallery on CBR.
Follow the link at the bottom for the other pieces.

Here's the finished version of the posted sketch.
It's a real kick seeing my work in such a public forum.

Let me know what you think in the comments section.

Zombie Smurf

This is a mix of the classic black look from the Dutch comic and the Purple from the cartoon. This is just a quicky for my PS painting practice.

It was inspired by my buddy Charles!

GROO-ming!

Wow 3 bits in one day!
This a hand drawn sketch for 10 Ton Studios Weekly sketch challenge.

I love Mr. Argones' work...total respect there.

Ghost busters related!

Here are some GB related pieces I'm working on. Stay Puft is for my upcoming convention year.
The boys VS Deadman is my rough for the reader submission at CBR.

Let me know what you all think.

He-Man with a Bieber!

Where the hell is this coming from? I had this image in my head of He-Man with a Bieber hair do for some reason. Oh well...more for you all.

Avengers Assemble!

Day 2 in this daily sketch ting I want to do.
This is for the Ten Ton weekly Sketch Jam.

Morning Sketch 0001 Orlock

Not bad for a few minutes work. I'm trying to keep them at hour. and eventually less.
It'll stop from over noodling and moving what comes out first.

Another step in the Voltron Eveolution!

My buddy Laz keeps poking me with a fork 'cause he wants me to be better.
Because of him I went all color theory on this. It's getting better and morning along.

Epic..no? And this is literally just half of it!

I haven't forgotten about this place...

I'm currently Vector obsessed!
This is a personal project for me but I feel that I'm growing from it.

I'll be posting more on this soon.
